She is a Clinical Pilates Instructor and prior to obtaining her Masters degree from UBC in 2011 she was a Personal Trainer, and Team Canada 400 metre hurdler. She uses this training to support her clients in both the prenatal and postpartum periods.

Sessions with Lauren include the assessment of pelvic floor and abdominal function (Diastasis Rectus Abdominis/DRA), as well as pelvic alignment, advice on optimizing baby’s position, strategies for management of anxiety and discomfort before and during childbirth, and any other areas of concern. Real-Time Ultrasound is available to assess the pelvic floor and abdominals after childbirth. Certified Sleep Advice regarding infant sleep is offered if needed as part of subsequent visits.

For clients preparing for or recovering from a Cesarean Birth, Lauren has taken specialized C-Section rehabilitation training to help her clients prepare for and recover from birth. Weekly exercises to follow after a C section are provided, and scar management using a variety of techniques, including Therapeutic Ultrasound, is offered.

Lauren is a Certified Pelvic Health Physiotherapist and is qualified to perform internal examinations. For issues where an internal pelvic floor exam is indicated, this does not need to take place during the first visit (and alternatives are available). Options will be discussed during your initial visit.

For those who do not wish to have or are unable to have an internal exam at this stage of their rehabilitation (such as those with an overactive pelvic floor or after recent pelvic surgery), Real-Time Ultrasound is a valuable option. It is also a helpful tool to image the abdominals, and as biofeedback for pelvic floor and core muscle training.

Therapeutic ultrasound is an option for the treatment of scars, including Cesarean Birth/C-Sections scars, vaginal scars, anal fissures, and other conditions and is included.

Lauren is also licensed to perform Acupuncture (as well as electro-acupuncture) and IMS (Intramuscular Stimulation), having received her training through the University of British Columbia's Chan Gunn IMS Institution. Therapeutic cupping and restorative manual therapy are also options. She also uses micro current for scar management and tissue healing, and is trained in the Graston myofascial release technique.

Lauren is a Clinical Pilates Instructor and prior to obtaining her Masters degree from UBC in 2011 she was a Personal Trainer, and Team Canada 400 metre hurdler.
